Interactive Currency Exhibition: WebAR
A scan-to-life museum experience built entirely for the web.
The Challenge
The project required delivering a full series of scan-triggered AR experiences across multiple currency pieces, with each marker needing dependable recognition in varying lighting, viewing angles, and visitor phone conditions. The challenge was to create a consistent "scan, delight, learn" flow that felt seamless across all banknotes, while managing performance constraints (web-based AR, device variability, venue connectivity) and ensuring the content stayed educational, brand-safe, and museum-appropriate.
The Outcome
The final WebAR series gave the exhibition an interactive layer that increased dwell time and visitor engagement, transforming static currency displays into memorable, shareable experiences. Delivered app-free through the browser, it made participation frictionless for the public while giving BNM a scalable format they can reuse for future exhibits, new banknotes, and evolving content drops without rebuilding the entire platform.
